Cabin camping at Kittatinny Mountain Scout Reservation, Branchville, NJ

This weekend is cabin camping at Kittatinny Mountain Scout Reservation on Struble Road, Branchville, NJ 07826
We have reserved cabins Bauman and Ford.
Friday Evening:
6:30 PM Meet at OLPH and car pool up to camp.
7:30 PM Check in and settle into the cabins for the night.
Ford Cabin is on top of the hill to the South of the parking lot.
Welch cabin is up the road to the north of camp.
The new Scouts and their parents will be in Ford and the senior Scouts can decide if they want Welch for themselves.
The cabins have woodstove, tables, and electricity.
Saturday:
Activities in and around camp. Explore the camp, work on advancement requirements, exploring camp, playing games, etc…Extensive hiking trails in the neighboring state forest offer opportunities. If there is snow, the sledding is excellent!

Saturday Night:
Supper in Camp.
Fantastic star gazing if the night is clear. Bring binoculars or a telescope if you have one.
Sunday Morning:
Breakfast in camp.
Pack up and return home by 11:00 AM
Bring:
Personal gear including knife, fork, spoon, cup, bowl and/or plate.
Cold weather clothes, boots, hats, gloves, etc…
Games to play in the cabins.
Sleds for the hill.
Firewood! Cabins are heated by wood burning stoves. No wood, no heat!
Cost:
$15 Per person for the camping fee and food.
Cooking/Food:
· We will cook and eat by cabin:
· Two weeks before the trip Scouts will decide which cabin they will be in.
· Then, the ranking Patrol Leader in each cabin will organize the cabin; plan their own menu, cook, and cleanup their own meals. This should work best as there is not enough eating space in any cabin to host another cabin of Scouts.
· Plan for Saturday, Breakfast, Lunch, Supper, and Sunday Breakfast.
Siblings: No siblings on this trip.

By February 3, 2010.
This gives the Scouts time to plan the menu and make carpool arrangements.
