Cabin camping at Camp Kluge
Activity:
This weekend is cabin camping at Dow Drukker Scout Reservation home to Camp Turrell and Kluge.
We have reserved the lower cabin #1 at camp Kluge. The cabin holds up to 30 people and is heated by propane. This is a great opportunity for the new scouts that are planning on attending Camp Turrell this year to see the facilities.
Friday:
Troop Guides head to camp early and plan an orienteering course for the newer scouts. This course will satisfy the 1st Class Requirement for orienteering.
Saturday:
7:45 AM Meet at OLPH.
8:00 AM SHARP car pool up to camp
Saturday:
Activities in and around camp. Explore the camp, work on advancement requirements, exploring camp, playing games, etc…Extensive hiking trails though out the Camp property. We will have a hike to Camp Turrell in the afternoon.

Saturday Night:
Supper in Camp.
Fantastic star gazing if the night is clear. Bring binoculars or a telescope if you have one.
Sunday Morning:
Breakfast in camp.
Pack up and return home by 11:00 AM
Bring:
Personal gear including knife, fork, spoon, cup, bowl and/or plate.
Cold weather clothes, boots, hats, gloves, etc…
Games to play in the cabins.
Scout book to work on requirements with other scouts.
Cost:
$15 Per person for the camping fee and food.
Cooking/Food:
· We will cook and eat by cabin:
· Two weeks before the trip Scouts will decide on patrols.
· Then, the ranking Patrol Leader in each cabin will organize the cabin; plan their own menu, cook, and cleanup their own meals.
· Plan for Saturday, Bring bag lunch for hike to Camp Turrell. Saturday Dinner and Sunday breakfast provided by Troop.
Siblings: No siblings on this trip.
RSVP: By March 6, 2010. This gives the Scouts time to plan the menu and make carpool arrangements.
