Demo Derby and Crystal Cave, October 22-23

Back by popular demand, we are going to the last Demolition Derby of the season, Crystal Cave and camping October 22-23, 2016!

Crystal Cave is noted for its abundance of formations.  Numerous stalactites, stalagmites, flowstone, boxwork, calcium and aragonite crystals, and bacon decorate the cave.  Like to see cars drive into one another, pile up, stall, steam, and get smashed?  Like action then this is the trip to go on!  Get ready for the action at Mountain Springs Arena Demolition Derby.  This is a rain or shine event.  Covered seating is available.

We will be camping OUTSIDE Saturday night at Mrs. Pappas’ father’s 13 acre property in Shartlesville, PA  ( GPS use 3400 Mountain Road, Hamburg PA,19526) located at the base of the Blue Mountains.  The weather will most likely be cold at night so pack accordingly.  On Saturday, we will go to Crystal Cave (963 Crystal Cave Road, Kutztown, PA), build lunch, free time in camp and an early dinner then attend a Demolition Derby.   Food and concession stands are in the Arena.  If you wish to purchase something, please bring money.  We’ll head home Sunday morning after breakfast.  Need to cook for advancement?  Looking for fun?  We’ve got you covered!  Sign up and let’s get going!

We’ll meet at OLPH at 7:30 am for roll call and depart for Shartlesville, PA on Saturday October 22.  The drive is approximately 125 miles.  We will go to Crystal Cave in Kutztown, build our lunch and set up camp.  We’ll have some free time in camp and eat an early dinner, and head to the arena for the Demo Derby.   Food and concession stands are in the Arena.  If you wish to purchase something, please bring money.  We’ll head home Sunday morning after breakfast.

Backpacks and Class A are not necessary, but please wear your Class B, C or troop fleece to the Crystal Cave and Demo Derby.  What are you waiting for?  Pack your gear and let’s GO!

Trip cost is $ 45, covers trip expenses and admission to Crystal Springs, Demo Derby.
