Boy Scout Troop 49 – Summer Camp Behavior Pledge

Scouts and Parents,

Summer camp is a wonderful time for your scout.  He will make new friends, have many new experiences, and learn a lot about himself and the world he lives in.  Scouting strives to maintain a safe environment for the Scouts.  This includes the obvious physical safety related to using sharp tools and fires.  It also includes the not so obvious such as safe from harassment, abuse, and bullying.  To make sure the Scouts and parents understand what behavior is expected and what behavior is inappropriate I have listed behaviors below.  I request that each Scout and parent read and sign this document and deliver it to Mrs. Lisa Whittle at 112 Seminole Avenue prior to July 1.  Failure to follow these behaviors will result in counseling by the leader, restriction of activities, and could result in being sent home from camp.  Please contact me if you have any questions regarding this document.  Remember, this is a Boy Scout camp so Scouts are expected to obey the Scout Oath and Scout Law at all times.

                                                            Yours in Scouting,

                                                            Martin Treich, Scoutmaster.

2.          I will follow the Buddy System at all times when outside the campsite.

3.          I will follow the instructions of troop leaders, adults, counselors, and camp staff.  If I don’t understand the instructions I will as questions.  If I believe the instructions are against the Scout Oath and Scout Law I will go to another adult or the Camp Staff for help.
