Goals for Program Year 2007-2008

1. One trip or outing each month.

2. Provide a program that gets scouts to First Class by February Court of Honor.

3. Strengthen Order of the Arrow participation.

4. Participate in District events to strengthen the feeling of brotherhood and to network with other troops.

5. Remember, to be considered “active” in the troop for rank advancement you must attend half of the meetings and half of the trips.

Thursday, May 29	Troop Meeting 8:00 to 9:15 At OLPH Program:  Planning for June trip  ??? First Aid Video ??? Notes: 1-8th Grade Boston Trip. 2- This is the cutoff date for advancement for the June Court of Honor. All your requirements must be completed (except Scoutmaster Conference and Board of Review) by this night. This allows the adults time to schedule all the Scoutmaster Conferences and BOR’s without going crazy!

Fri-Sat-Sun June 6-7-8	Tent Camping at Lake Tiorati in Harriman State Park 1 Philmont Trek backpacking trip. 2 Optional backpacking overnight for non-Philmont Scouts. 3 Lakeside tent camping for the rest of us.
Fri-Sat-Sun June 6-7-8	Order of the Arrow Ordeal at Camp Lewis Scouts must RSVP on the council web site at least 2 weeks before and pay in advance. No payments or RSVP at the door!
Thursday, June 12	7:30 to 9:00 Merit Badge Counselor Training: Adults are encouraged to attend this Merit Badge training session to become Merit Badge Counselors. Prior to the meeting, take the online Youth Protection Training.
Thursday, June 12	No Troop Meeting Boards of Review will be scheduled as needed.
Thursday, June 19	Troop Court of Honor 7:30 to 9:30 At Messiah Lutheran Church on Ramapo Valley Road. Bring the entire family, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc… This is a formal recognition of the Scouts achievements. Refreshments will be served.

July 13-19	Floodwood High Adventure camp in the Adirondacks Adult Coordinator: Scott Mendolia
July 20 to 26, 2008	Trip to Sea base with Troop 258 in Mahwah. (This trek is full)
July 27 to August 2	Camp Turrell Adult Coordinator: Lisa Whittle

Aug. 10-16	National Youth Leadership Training conference at Camp Turrell. Information on the Council web site. This is a Council activity.
Aug. 13-22	One week Troop trek to Philmont Scout ranch in New Mexico Adult Coordinator: Scott Mendolia (This trek is full)

Sept. 5-6-7	Order of the Arrow Ordeal at No-Be-Bo-Sco Scouts must RSVP on the council web site at least 2 weeks before and pay in advance. No payments or RSVP at the door!

Sept. 5-6-7	Troop Tent Camping trip to Sandy Hook National Park. We have reservations for site #3 for the weekend. Bring your bikes as this is a great place for cycling or rollerblading with miles of bike paths.
