This weekend is cabin camping at Kittatinny Mountain Scout Reservation on Struble Road, Branchville, NJ 07826. For more information on the camp, click here
We have reserved cabins Johnson and Welch which have 40 bunks.
Friday Evening February 10th:
Eat Dinner at home before departing
6:30 PM Meet at OLPH and car pool up to camp.
7:30 PM Check in and settle into the cabins for the night.
The cabins have woodstove, tables, and electricity.
Since many scouts will have an early dinner, you are welcome to bring a light snack for Friday night.
Saturday February 11th:
Patrol Cooking – Hot Breakfast
Activities to be determined based on weather:
- Trebuchet assembly and catapulting.
- Hike Tillman Ravine
- Work on advancement requirements
- Games, etc…
Patrol Cooking – Lunch
More activities in the afternoon.
Saturday Night:
Patrol Cooking – Dinner
Fantastic star gazing if the night is clear.
Sunday Morning February 12th:
Breakfast in camp – Patrol Cooking – “Grab & Go” no cooking breakfast.
Pack up and return home by 11:00 AM
Bring:
Personal gear including knife, fork, spoon, cup, bowl and/or plate.
Cold weather clothes, boots, hats, gloves, etc…
Games to play in the cabins.
Sleds for moving gear.
Depending on the number of signups and number of bunks, extra cots may be needed.
Firewood! Cabins are heated by wood burning stoves. No wood, no heat!
Cost:
$20 Per person for the camping fee and food.
Cooking/Food:
Patrol Leaders should identify scouts looking to complete cooking requirements for advancement, and coach them on purchasing and coordinating the meals for their patrol.
Siblings: No siblings on this trip.
