Navy Versus Tulsa

November 11 (Friday) – 13 (Sunday), 2016 

Just off the heels of our tour to the Merchant Marine Academy, get ready for Troop 49’s trip to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis Maryland.  We leave on Friday of the November Teacher’s Convention break (November 11-13) from Oakland at 8 AM and arrive in the Annapolis area about noon.  We plan to visit the NSA Cryptology Museum and Goddard Flight Center during the weekend.  On Saturday we’ll tour the Naval academy and attend Navy football- Navy versus Tulsa, the final home game of the season.   We’ll camp with over 1,000 other scouts from the mid-Atlantic area for this fun-filled, action-packed Navy Scout weekend.  It’s an annual event and fills up quickly.  So don’t wait; get your registration in early.  Strict Deadline is July 23, 2016.

Registration Deadline:  July 23, 2016.  We need this much notice as we are committing to a significant block of game tickets.  Camping is restricted to 30 scouts and 10 adults.

4:15 Set up camp Elks provide dinner

Overnight sleeping at camp

SATURDAY, November 12th 

2016 Scout Day

6:00 AM – Breakfast

7:00 AM – Depart Camp

8:00 AM Midshipmen-led tours (NESA) of the Naval academy grounds

9:00 AM Parade Review (Brigade Midshipmen march from Naval Academy through town to stadium)

9:30 AM – 11:30 AM (Navy Fest) Free Patch to all scouts who attend

11:00 AM Tailgate Provided by Elks

11:40 AM National Anthem and before-game festivities on the field

12:00 PM Kickoff! Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Maryland.

Post Game:

Scouts return to campsite at Elks Camp Barrett

Elks provide Dinner, Bonfire and troops provide skits

SUNDAY, November 13

6:30 AM Hot breakfast

8:30 AM Non-denominational Spiritual Service at scout built Hillside Chapel

9:30 AM clean up camp

10:00 AM Visit Fort McHenry (Optional)

2:00 PM Depart for Home (Bring money for lunch)
