Payment Page: Battleship Massachusetts Payment Form 2019 v1

We will travel to the “Battleship Cove” at 5 Water Street in Fall River, Massachusetts, which is home to five National Historic Landmark vessels including the Battleship “USS Massachusetts”, the Destroyer “USS Joseph P. Kennedy”, the submarine “USS Lionfish”, PT Boats “617” and “796”, and the Russian ship “Hiddensee”.  Everyone will get to sleep in the same authentic bunks that the sailors slept in; learn how the sailors lived and worked on board; participate in special activities (knot-tying, Storytelling, Morse Code); gather round to watch an action-packed feature film; “mingle” with veterans who made history; and have a full dinner and breakfast in the battleship’s Wardroom.   You can get more information at www.battleshipcove.org.

We plan on gathering early Saturday morning (March 16th) at OLPH, driving up, staying overnight and returning on Sunday (March 17th).  There are other museums to visit and people can leave as early or late as they want on Sunday (we just have to have our gear off of the battleship by 10:30 am on Sunday morning).  The cost is $69.00 per person.  With the troop subsidy, it will end up being $44 per scout (and $69 per adult or non-scout).

Everyone is welcome, siblings must be accompanied by a parent. We are also going try and work in a visit to the Submarine Force Museum in Groton, Connecticut on the way back.  This is the home of the historic ship “Nautilus”, the world’s first nuclear Submarine.  The cost of this would be separate and in addition to the cost of Battleship Cove.  If you want to go… please sign up quickly!  Signup for the trip will close on March 8th. After this time you can still come, assuming there is space, but you will need to purchase the tickets on your own.
